You can now connect Apple Ads to Neuro
Connect Apple Ads to your Neuro workspace and review App Store campaign keywords, search terms, and install performance in the same conversation as the rest of your ad data.
Apple Ads now connects to your Neuro workspace too
With this update, you can connect Apple Ads to your Neuro workspace. Plenty of teams still call it Apple Search Ads or ASA day to day, but Neuro surfaces App Store ad data under its current name, Apple Ads.
Apple Ads doesn't behave like web search advertising. Users discover apps inside App Store surfaces such as search results, the Search tab, the Today tab, and product pages, so you have to look at taps, installs, keywords, search terms, and the product page conversion path together. If you read it the way you'd read post-click web conversions in Google Ads or Meta Ads, you'll draw the wrong conclusions.
In Neuro, you connect your Apple Ads account to the same workspace as the rest of your ad data and check campaign, ad group, keyword, and search term performance in a single conversation. When you need to make changes, you can review proposed edits to entities like campaigns and ad groups inside Ad Operations Mode and the approval flow.
What to check within 10 minutes after connecting
Right after connecting Apple Ads, read recent performance before you start changing settings. Your first job is to spot which campaigns are driving installs, where spend is leaking, and which search terms need a closer look.
- Pull spend, taps, installs, TTR, and CR by campaign for the last 30 days.
- For campaigns driving installs at rising cost, drill down into ad groups and keywords.
- In the search term report, separate terms to exclude from terms worth expanding.
- Plan to review post‑install revenue and retention alongside AppsFlyer or your own in‑app event data.
How to connect: sign in with Apple and pick an account
- In Data sources in your Neuro workspace, select Apple Ads.
- Click Sign in with Apple to open the Apple authentication window.
- In the Apple window, choose the access you want to grant Neuro. If you only need to view and analyze performance, start with read‑only. If you plan to hand off creation and edits, choose read and write access.
- Once you've authenticated, Neuro lists the Apple Ads accounts you have access to.
- Select the one account this workspace will manage to finish the connection.
What you can check right after connecting
The point of the Apple Ads integration is to let app marketers ask the same questions they work through every day. Confirm the account currency and time zone first, read the campaign structure, then interpret the reports for the period you care about in the context of keywords and search terms.
| Business question | How Neuro reads it | What to watch out for |
|---|---|---|
| Which campaigns drove installs in the last 30 days? | Pull a campaign‑level report to compare impressions, taps, spend, installs, TTR, and CR. | Apple Ads reads more naturally through the tap‑and‑install funnel than through clicks. |
| Which ad groups have shaky performance? | Look at ad group–level reports alongside the campaign structure. | Ad groups can mix settings like audience type, device, region, and Search Match. |
| Which keywords are eating budget? | Pull keyword or ad group keyword–level reports for spend, taps, installs, and conversion rate. | Instead of dumping every keyword in the account at once, review them campaign by campaign and ad group by ad group. |
| Are there search terms worth excluding? | Use the search term report to see each query's spend and install contribution. | Read search term reports inside the campaign or ad group path so you can trace the root cause correctly. |
Rather than requesting every report field up front, decide what level the decision needs first. Budget checks live at the campaign level, structural diagnosis at the ad group level, and keyword maintenance at the keyword or search term level — lock the level to the question you're asking.
Questions marketers can ask right away
If you've just connected Apple Ads, start with diagnostics rather than operational changes. Once you've reviewed recent performance, campaign structure, keywords, and search terms, it's far clearer which changes are worth considering.
- Summarize Apple Ads campaign‑level impressions, taps, spend, installs, TTR, and CR for the last 30 days, and split campaigns into ones to scale up, ones to scale back, and ones that need a closer look.
- Find campaigns driving installs at high cost, then break down the cause at the ad group and keyword level.
- In the search term report, find queries that spend but barely convert, and separate negative keyword candidates from search terms worth expanding.
- Explain how install counts and in‑app event numbers differ when you look at Apple Ads and AppsFlyer side by side.
Make operational changes only after review
The Apple Ads integration defaults to viewing and diagnostics. Actual create, update, and delete operations only run when the account has the right permissions and both Ad Operations Mode and the approval flow are on. With those in place, Neuro can also draft change proposals for entities like campaigns, ad groups, and keywords.
| Operational task | How it works in Neuro | How to request it safely |
|---|---|---|
| Pause campaigns or ad groups | Confirms the target IDs and current status, then runs a change proposal to set them to Paused after approval. | Before it runs, ask to see a table of target name, ID, current status, and new status. |
| Keyword maintenance | Separates low‑performing search terms and keyword candidates, then drafts add and negative change proposals. | Clarify the roles of Search Match vs. exact and broad match first, then request the change proposal. |
| Bid and budget changes | Confirms account currency and campaign settings, then compares before‑and‑after values. | Verify every amount field matches the Apple Ads account currency first. |
| Deletions | Confirms the list of IDs to delete, then deletes them after approval. | Deletions are hard to undo, so consider whether pausing is enough before you delete. |
Read Apple Ads numbers as an app install funnel
Apple Ads covers how users discover and install apps inside the App Store. So read metrics like TTR, CR, installs, and CPT together with your product page, ASO, Custom Product Pages, and in‑app events.
- If TTR is low, start with the app icon, name, screenshots, and the impression context at the moment of search.
- If CR is low, check the product page, ratings, screenshots, and CPP relevance after the tap.
- Keyword and search term reports answer different questions — separate problems with the keywords you've added from problems with the queries actually coming in.
- Apple Ads alone can't explain post‑install subscriptions, purchases, and retention. You need to read them alongside an MMP like AppsFlyer or your own in‑app event data.
- When you compare against other channels, make sure every answer states the same period, country, currency, and attribution window.
A good question isn't "How's Apple Ads doing?" It's closer to "For the same period and country, where is the funnel breaking between search terms and product page conversion for campaigns with declining installs?" The tighter you frame it, the more directly you can act on the answer.
A recommended Apple Ads workflow in Neuro
- Connect your Apple Ads account to the workspace. To see post‑install performance, connect AppsFlyer or your in‑app event data too.
- In your first conversation, run a last‑30‑days campaign‑level report to review spend, taps, installs, TTR, and CR.
- For campaigns with shaky performance, narrow down in order: ad groups, then keywords, then search terms.
- Separate the role of search terms surfaced through Search Match from your existing exact keywords.
- Don't run operational changes right away — first get a table of the proposed change, target IDs, current values, new values, and risks.
- Approve only the changes that pass review, and after they run, log what succeeded, what failed, and when to check back.
- For recurring questions like a weekly app install review, save them as scheduled reports with the same criteria.
Keep an eye on the API version
Neuro's Apple Ads tooling currently runs on Apple Ads Campaign Management API v5. Apple's documentation lists this API for deprecation on January 26, 2027, so plan any long‑term automation or large‑scale workflow with an API version migration in mind.
That's why Neuro checks which reports and change scopes Apple Ads supports before it runs any viewing, reporting, or change operation — so it never guesses at unsupported calls.
FAQ
Your app ad operations just got a little wider
With Apple Ads connected, Neuro covers more of your app install campaigns. You can bring App Store campaign, ad group, keyword, and search term performance into the same operational reviews as your other channels.
If your team has been reviewing Apple Ads off on its own, try connecting it in read‑only mode from Data sources in your Neuro workspace. Then run the last‑30‑days campaign report with the first prompt above to kick off campaign diagnostics, search term review, and change proposal evaluation in a single conversation.
