Connect Microsoft Ads to your Neuro workspace and review keywords on your Bing search campaigns plus shopping and audience campaign performance in the same flow as your other channels.
Microsoft Ads is now part of the same ad operations flow
This update lets you connect Microsoft Ads to your Neuro workspace. Plenty of teams still call it Bing Ads day to day, but the product is now Microsoft Advertising, and it runs campaigns across the Microsoft ad network, Bing included.
Microsoft Ads is a channel for capturing users with strong search intent. It looks a lot like Google Ads, but the account structure, the way reports are generated, search partner traffic, and how it reads keywords and search terms are all different. That’s why bolting it onto a Google Ads report doesn’t always cut it.
In Neuro, you can connect Microsoft Ads to the same workspace as your other channels and review campaign, ad group, ad, keyword, and performance reports in a single conversation. When you need to make changes, you can also create, edit, and delete campaigns, ad groups, ads, and keywords inside Ad Operations Mode and its approval flow.
How to connect: pick your login method and ad account together
- In the Data sources screen of your Neuro workspace, select Microsoft Ads.
- Choose the login method you used to sign up for Microsoft Advertising. Log in with your Microsoft work, school, or personal account, or with your Google account if that’s what you used to sign up for Bing Ads.
- Once you’re authenticated, you’ll see a list of the Microsoft Ads accounts you can access.
- Select the ad account you want to manage in this workspace. Neuro stores both the Customer ID and the Account ID from Microsoft Ads and uses them for future API calls.
- Once you’re connected, you can pull that Microsoft Ads account’s data from Neuro chat and MCP tools.
What you can see immediately after connecting
The whole point of the Microsoft Ads integration is to let search advertisers ask the same questions they run every day. Neuro reads the account structure first, pulls reports for the period you need, then reads keywords and search terms in the context of their campaigns.

Instead of pulling every column up front, narrow down to the report types and columns the decision actually needs. For a campaign budget meeting, stick to CampaignPerformance; for keyword optimization, stick to KeywordPerformance or SearchQueryPerformance depending on the question. The first time you look at CampaignPerformance, TimePeriod, CampaignName, Impressions, Clicks, Spend, AverageCpc, and Conversions are plenty to start with, and if revenue is configured, just add ReturnOnAdSpend.
Questions marketers can ask right away
If you’ve just connected Microsoft Ads, it’s safer to start with diagnosis before you change anything. Once you’ve looked at recent performance, search terms, keywords, and ad group structure, it’s much clearer which changes are worth considering.
- Summarize the last 30 days of Microsoft Ads performance by campaign across spend, clicks, conversions, and ROAS, and split out candidates to scale up versus pull back.
- Review ad group performance for the last 14 days and find ad groups with lots of clicks but weak conversions. Check their keywords and ad copy too.
- Using SearchQueryPerformance, surface high-spend search terms and separate negative keyword candidates from the ones that need a closer look.
- Compare Google Ads and Microsoft Ads search campaigns over the same period, and explain the performance gaps in terms of campaign structure and search terms.
Review operational changes, then execute
The Microsoft Ads integration defaults to reporting and diagnosis. The actual create, edit, and delete actions run in Ad Operations Mode inside an approval workflow. With those in place, Neuro can also process campaign, ad group, ad, and keyword operation requests.

Don’t read Microsoft Ads numbers the same way you read Google Ads
Microsoft Ads is like Google Ads in that it’s a search platform, but its reporting and network definitions are different. Even when the search keyword looks identical, the numbers move differently depending on placement, search partners, campaign type, and attribution logic.
- You may be looking at more than Bing—the Microsoft Advertising Network and partner traffic can be in the mix too.
- Mixing campaign types blurs the lines between how you read search, shopping, and audience campaigns.
- Reports are generated asynchronously, so on large accounts the results may not come back right away.
- SearchQueryPerformance reports on the actual search terms, while KeywordPerformance reports on the keywords you’ve registered in the account.
- When you compare against other channels, make sure the answer states the period, currency, time zone, and conversion definition.
The better question isn’t “Which channel is better?” but “Over the same period and conversion definition, how does the keyword cost structure of Microsoft Ads search campaigns differ from Google Ads?” The more you lock down the criteria, the easier it is to take an AI answer straight into operations.
A recommended Microsoft Ads workflow in Neuro
- Connect your Microsoft Ads account to a workspace. If that workspace also has Google Ads, Meta Ads, and GA4 connected, comparisons get a lot easier.
- In your first conversation, use the CampaignPerformance report for the last 30 days to review spend, clicks, conversions, and ROAS at the campaign level.
- For campaigns with shaky performance, drill down from ad groups to ads to keywords to search terms.
- In the search term report, separate negative keyword candidates from keyword expansion candidates.
- Don’t push changes live right away—first get a table with the proposed changes, target IDs, current values, new values, and the risks involved.
- Approve only the changes you’ve reviewed, and after the run, log what succeeded, what failed, and when to check next.
- For recurring questions like weekly budget reviews, set them up as scheduled tasks or team reports using the same criteria.
